does the pinion bearing comes out from the back? the pumpkin side with the bolts?

my pinion bearing is only noisy right now. my mechanic said that there are no replacement rears available. total rebuild of rear, including axle bearings, is about $1400

Blinks 40-60 times per minute (a test question). We had ours in our flight gear w/ velcro on it (& velcro attacher on our flight helmets) so if we ditched, you can turn it on & attach it to your helmet. Also had Mk-13 dual ended smoke marker. Orange smoke was for day use and red smoke for night use. Pencil flares, PRC-90 radio, sea dye marker & signal mirror (most effective daytime signaling device) made up the rest of our survival gear.

Idk what an axle would cost but you can buy a rebuild kit for under $200 and just do it yourself. If you take it to a mechanic it's going to cost around $1000. I plan on doing mine myself. The main thing is, you have to have the right tools.

I just bought an 83 4x4 GMC with the same problem. I'm just going to pull out the engine to do the same thing your doing. Don't want to take any chances of it leaking still. Maybe even do a minor overhaul.

The original battery contained mercury, now banned for battery construction in the US. Replacement lithium batteries are available, but cost around $47 each. I'm going to convert mine to run on CR123 cells.

The MS-2000M unit is utter junk. Granted the battery on the 5/E doesn’t last as long, but in the long run it’s much better made! Thanks for the review!

On my unit, the drain comes out and does a 90, then tee's into the main vertical drain line. I can pour bleach down the main drain, but that will not clean the whole part before it goes into the tee. I'm thinking of cutting the line before it 90's about 6 inches from the unit then checking it for any obstruction, then replace it with some type of quick connect fitting to reattach it.

Yeah it went bad look at that pinon angle my lord.. Dude put a spacer to drop cross member or ur gonna keep doin that to ur rear end . Also that anoying vibration we all are in denial about under acceleration will disapear with at least 3/4" spacer... 5/8 - 2" depending on how high lift is

should use coil cleaner...better yet, get somebody who knows what he's doing to clean your coils, and make sure the drain is clear. You would actually save money by paying someone to do it right...

Just put my pinion in with new bearing and it still has some play, anyone know what to do?

05 ford Mustang makes awful noise. told it's rack and pinion in rear differential and bad bearings in transmission. when in park and running can't hear noise, but when inside driving can hear the noise when car is put in 1st gear the noise begins and continues while driving and changing gears.

Thank you for this very simply explained video. Last year I had to pay almost $500.00 to have this done because the coil iced up. I was happy to pay it because I have an 11 year old system and am trying to get a few more years out of it. I live in Florida and it's miserable to go without one. I want to keep it maintained myself and this video was a fabulous help!
